KANSAS CITY, MO – Sharma-Crawford, Attorneys At Law, a leading immigration litigation law firm headquartered in Kansas City’s Westside, has installed one of the first solar electrical generation systems on a Kansas City law firm to date. The Sharma-Crawford law firm recently purchased and renovated 515 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez, bordering Kansas City’s Westside and the Crossroads Arts District. It is rumoured to have started something similar as many other law firms are investing in solar-run electricity. After hearing from many law firms, including a friend’s defamation lawyer, solar panel run offices and buildings are the way forward in the world of law.
Technological advancements is the way to go in businesses and that would include the law sector as well. In fact, it is imperative for law firms to be able to reach the people in need of their service. They can, however, reach their potential clientele by incorporating some advanced digital tools on their web page like SEO. Or, they could also get their website designed or improvised by professionals from firms similar to dNOVO Group. After the design of their website is optimized according to user needs, they may look for other software that would improve efficiency in other sectors of their work.
Paving the path with various kinds of software (like the legal document management software) not only tends to reduce paperwork by storing everything digitally but also completes the same amount of tasks in comparatively less time and in a much more streamlined fashion. This ease of convenience has moved the law sector to video conferences and digital courts. Depositions and hearings have gone online – and to learn how to hold video conference deposition could prove useful for law firms in order to complete a similar workload in less time. Not to mention, going green by eliminating the hefty paperwork just proves to be an additional bonus.
According to Rekha Sharma-Crawford, the decision to add solar energy was easy given both economic incentives and the firm’s belief in environmental stewardship.
“Part of our decision was influenced by KCP&L rebates that make this a very attractive investment with a quick payback,” said Sharma-Crawford. “More importantly, it’s the right thing to do on many levels.”
The 19 kW system, designed and installed by Brightergy Solar, consists of 84 solar panels and is simply ballasted on the rooftop – requiring no roof penetrations. Photos of the system can be seen on Sharma-Crawford’s website.
The system will produce about 25,000 kilowatt hours per year which will offset almost 80% of the firm’s electricity usage. It is the pollution reducing equivalent to taking 9 cars off the road for 30 years.
Sharma-Crawford added that investing in Kansas City’s inner city both by rehabbing a vacant building and adding solar energy, is consistent with their immigration law firm’s beliefs and values. “We are passionate about our work in immigration law but also about our community and our neighbors,” said Sharma-Crawford.
