Becker Underwood Inc. finished installing 84 roof-top solar panels in an effort to produce renewable energy.
The panels, from Brightergy Solar are said to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 789 tons over the next 25 years.
This project is the largest private solar array in St. Joseph.
The goal is to reduce carbon emissions, while promoting self-sustainability.
Chris Feiden with Becker Underwood Inc. said, “We really wanted to find a way to put renewable energy in our portfolio and St. Joseph, the partnership with KCP&L has been an integral piece to help us achieve that here in St. Joseph.”
The system is expected to last for nearly 40 years.
